Sensory play includes any activity that stimulates your young child’s senses: touch, smell, taste, sight and hearing.
Sensory activities facilitate exploration and naturally encourage children to use scientific processes while they play, create, investigate and explore. Spending time stimulating their senses helps children develop cognitively, linguistically, socially and emotionally, physically and creatively.
We are fortunate to have our own specific sensory room. It has a bubble tube that changes colour, build in speakers to play soothing music or calming natural sounds, projection pictures creating a 360 degree aquarium and much more. The children love to relax and stimulate their senses in this space and every room has the opportunity to use this space within the nursery.
