The focus at this stage is to fully prepare the children for school. Through
careful planning of the childrens activities taking note of their interests,
stages of development and individual learning styles the staff team prepare a
rich blend of learning experiences through play.
Activities include
Arts and crafts using a wide variety of materials, sand, water, clay, dough,
music, drama, computers, printers, camcorders and digital cameras and other IT
items, large physical toys, construction, jigsaws. Puppets, story sacks,
imaginative areas with dressing up, to name just a few.
Our large outdoor area, with a shaded decking area and winding paths,
grassy hill with slides, growing areas and much more, is available throughout
the day allowing all activities to be enjoyed outside where the children can
learn about the weather and the world around them as they play.
The children are
also taken on walks and visits regularly,
with
visitors to the nursery such as police, fire brigade,
nurses,
librarians also being the norm.
