Where children matter
NEW
The pink room is the first of our 3-5 year old rooms, where in Partnership with South Lanarkshire Council we can offer the children sessional care hours to suit parents needs.
Donna is our room senior in this room, with experience in all age groups Donna has moved room with her group of children to promote a continuity of the childrens care and aid their transition into the anti pre-school room.
The children use floor books for their planning; a planning which using Curriculum for Excellence is based on the childrens interests and on their prior knowledge. We use the information that children have learned as a basis for the start of our floor books to revisit learning and build on the childs knowledge.
Children have the opportunities to explore and experiment with lots of different materials and media throughout their day at nursery.
With the focus for learning on allowing children to have uninterupted play; with staff members being models for the children. The children still have the opportunity to come together with friends to enjoy a story or have time in the central area for ring games and music and movement. An all round curriculum based on children having varied and meaningful experinces.
